Allure of the Seas Review - 2022

Are you wondering if Allure of the Seas is the right ship for you? I had the privilege of going on Allure with my family in June of 2022. I was joined by my husband, daughter, mom & dad and in-laws! We had an amazing vacation and it was so fun to be able to share something I loved so much with my family. Allure is a great ship so keep reading to learn more

Here’s what you need to know!

1. No Royal Amplification:

  • Allure of the Seas has not been amplified. What does this mean? It means they haven’t made any updates to the ship since it was delivered in 2010 to the cruise line. We definitely noticed some wear and tear on the ship. It was in desperate need of a paint job but ultimately we didn’t let that ruin our vacation. If you’re loyal to Royal Caribbean you’ll notice a few things that were missing on this ship:

    1. Ultimate Abyss Slide

    2. Water Slides

    3. Lime & Coconut Bar

    4. Robot Bar

    5. Updated Speciality Dining

  • With so much to do on the ship, these few activities won’t worsen your trip. However, if you have teenagers in your party who want to go down water slides all day, I’d suggest a different ship!

2. Entertainment:

  • Mama Mia: Need I say more? Most Oasis class ships have Broadway shows on them and this one was amazing. I’m a sucker for Broadway so I had high expectations! My 18 month old daughter at the time even sat through the entire first half! It was so great and I definitely recommend making an effort to see it if you can.

  • Ocean Aria Water Show: This water show wasn’t my favorite from Royal Caribbean. It was good, but I have a favorite and it just doesn’t compare! (I’ll tell you what my favorite water show on RC is soon!)

  • Ice Games! Ice Show: We love seeing the ice shows on a RC cruise. Where else can you find a great show on ice in the middle of the ocean?! This was a family friendly show and kept my daughter entertained the entire time. Highly recommend it!

3. Dining:

  • Allure has two specialty dining venues that are unique. Samba grill, a Brazilian steakhouse and Sabor, a modern Mexican restaurant. These two restaurants are not found on many other RC ships as they are being phased out. If you want to try them you’ll need to do it soon!

  • As for included food, they have all the regulars! Windjammer, Main Dining Room, Sorrento’s Pizza etc. However, the one restaurant they don’t have that you may miss is El Loco Fresh. We were sad to be without this for the week!

Overall, Allure of the Seas is a great ship! Oasis class ships are in a league of their own. My family loves being able to walk through central park at night when it’s all lit up! I hope you can get on an Oasis class ship soon!
